Curiosity can do more things than kill a cat,and if enothions, well recognized as feminine, are inimical to feline 1 life, then jealousy 2 would soon leave the whole world catless.(好奇可以做到的不只是杀死猫,如果通常被认为是女性化的情绪对猫的生命有害,那么毒剂很快就将世上所有的猫杀死)。注意,这里用的是can kill a cat,而非过去时形式killed the cat.
1.----Bill:Hey, I heard that Tina got the promotion 3 because she’s been sleeping with Donald all this time. You think it’s true?
----Louise:I don't know. And I don't wanna know. Curiosity killed the cat.
2.----Charlie:Kevin is acting 4 weird 5 lately. Something must be going on.
----George:Just leave him alone.
----Charlie: don't you want to know? He checks his locker 6 after every class. It's going to be something important. What if it is a gun?
----George: Curiosity killed the cat
