Israel has agreed to a 12-hour humanitarian 1 ceasefire in fighting with militants 2 in the Gaza Strip. The Israeli military said in a statement that the lull 3 will start at 8 a.m. local time Saturday.
The statement warns that the military "shall respond if terrorists choose to exploit" the lull to attack Israeli troops "or fire at Israeli civilians 4." It also says that "operational activities to locate and neutralize 5 tunnels in the Gaza Strip will continue."
The military also said "Gaza civilians who have been requested to vacate from their residents are to refrain from returning".
