Leading our news this morning, Australian authorities are investigating whether a wreckage 1 from a plane found off the east coast of Africa is for missing Malaysia Airlines Flight 370. The Bowing Aircraft went missing on a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing in 2014 where 239 people on board. The plane wreckage washed up on the coast of French island of the union, east of Madagascar.

Russia, as we just heard, has blocked international efforts to launch a criminal investigation 2 into the downing of flight MH17 over Ukraine last year. Australia has led that push to hunt down those who took the lives of 298 passengers and crew. Malaysia says Russia’s decision to veto the tribunal is a blow to the families of those on board MH17, but Russia maintains it can not trust the tribunal.
Now the leader of the House Christopher Pyne says the government will protect embattled speaker Bronwyn Bishop 3 from a vote of no confidence. Crossbencher MPs Clive Palmer and Andrew Wilkie are planning to move a no-confidence motion when parliament resumes. Christopher Pyne says Mrs. Bishop is doing a good job and should remain a speaker.
The government of Afghanistan says it believes the supreme 4 leader of Taliban died more than two years ago. The presidential palace says it has credible 5 information that Mullah Omar died in a Pakistan hospital back in April, 2013.
