Ah,well it is not technically 1 an appeal. Just because the sentence of confirmed today,the next step will be taking the case to the Court of Cassation ,and the Court of Cassation is the highest in the Dubai court system and it is basically a review of the entire case and review of the procedures that happened in court.
So today's hearing was from the original contesting of this one-month prison sentence that was actually handed down. So I guess what you saying is this attempt wasn't a full appeal hearing today.
No,today was an appeal,it is was an appeal,but they lost appeal. So the verdict was confirmed,so they are sentenced to one-month in prison each for Dubai's portation and, in addition,a thousand dirhams fined for consumption of alcohol. Now because they lost the appeal they have thirty days to take it to the Court of Cassation,which is review of all the procedures that happened in the court,so in the whole staff,they could actually get rid of the sentence.
Yeah,and will that be a judge again,there is no jury trial as such in the process?
There is no jury. It is not a jury .It is on the three judges and they will go against the three judges so it is not a jury and it's not a court that gives down a sentence. It is a court that basically reviews ,so in case anything went wrong in the court,and in the court first instance or in the court of appeals,this one will come up in the Court of Cassation.
