Keep Calm and Be A Superstar due to release Today
Hong Kong Canto 1 pop singer and actor Eason Chan is now showing his Kungfu slapstick with a fun-filled action film, Keep Calm and Be A Superstar or Wo Di Ju Xing (卧底巨星) in Chinese.
His costar is young singer Li Ronghao. Director Vincent Kok explains why he selected two singers as leads in his new film.
"I felt quite entertained and couldn't help laughing when I watched Li Ronghao's MV. Then I approached him and we had meals together, during which I found he's indeed a man of humor. In contrast to Eason's personality traits as being hot-blooded and energetic, he looks pretty cool. My first instinct is they could be an interesting duo."
Li Ronghao acts as a private investigator 2, who has always dreamt of becoming a heroic cop in the movies. As he's performing his duties in Hong Kong, he is coerced 3 into becoming an undercover informant, to investigate his idol 4, action superstar Bao. Eason Chan plays Bao.
The film also stars American actor Chris Collins, who became known in China for his role in the action film Paradox 5, and young actress Li Yitong.
Keep Calm and Be A Superstar is due to open in Chinese theatres today.
