After spending 25 years with MCA Records, Country legend Reba McEntire switched to Nashville's independent label, Valory Music. Reba's first album for Valory is "Keep On Loving You."
The title track of Reba McEntire's latest album was co-written by Ronnie Dunn, lead singer of the award-winning Country duo Brooks 1 and Dunn.
Reba's music career spans more than 30 years. During the past decade, however, she focused on acting 2. From 2001 to 2007, she appeared in her own television comedy series and also played the role of Annie Oakley in the Broadway revival 3 of "Annie Get Your Gun."
Reba says she titled her new album "Keep On Loving You" as a sentiment toward the loyal fans who have followed her through all of her creative endeavors.
In 2008, Reba announced her decision to leave MCA Records for Valory Music. The move reunited her with Valory's president Scott Borchetta, who was an executive with MCA during the 1990s.
"Strange" was the lead single from Reba's new album. The track gave the 54-year-old singer her highest solo chart debut 4 ever, and became the fastest-climbing single of her career.
Reba is supporting "Keep On Loving You" on a 19-city U.S. tour with Country star George Strait. The outing, which runs through mid-April, also features Strait's fellow Texan Lee Ann Womack. Reba is also set to host the upcoming Academy of Country Music Awards for the 12th time. The 45th annual awards will be presented in Las Vegas on April 18.
Reba earned her very first Number One hit in 1983 with "Can't Even Get the Blues 5." She took the second and current single from "Keep On Loving You" to the top of the Country chart in the final week of 2009, which extended her span of Number One hits to 26 years.
