1. Firefighters are making progress containing the wildfire in Big Sur. Even so, officials expect the blaze to continue burning for weeks. Cooler weather over the weekend helped slow the spread of flames. But temperatures are forecast to climb in the next few days.
2. More than 40 people are dead, nearly 150 others wounded after a suicide car bombing outside the Indian Embassy in Kabul. Afghanistan quickly blamed Pakistan, India's rival for the deadliest blast in Kabul since the fall of the Taliban in 2001.
3. A father in Jonesboro allegedly killed his own daughter. That's after she wanted to get out of an arranged marriage he had forced her into in Pakistan a few years ago. Authorities say the 54-year-old man choked his daughter to death Sunday morning in their home.
4. And residents in Fargo woke up to something you don't see every day. A black bear running through their neighborhood. The bear even made its way to a car dealer's lot. Police shot the 130-pound animal with a tranquilizer gun. He'll likely be released in the wild up near the Canadian border.
