This newly released audios recording 1 ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi is 24 minutes’ long and it’s called “wake, for we as well are waiting with you” –a reference to a Quran verses of the judgment 2 day.
CNN cannot independently paraphrase 3 the authenticity 4 of the recording but it seems to follow the standard of dissemination 5 for ISIS videos. It has two focuses. The first is a … for ISIS troops, troops that are now fighting in Iraq and Syria. ISIS is likely to have a difficult year ahead, analysts 6 say. And Baghdadi made the big recruitment and push here. And many international communities cracked down on its radicalization and make it difficult to travel through the region.
The second big focus here of this video is an Israeli-Palestinian conflict. ISIS has actually faced criticism in the past for not focusing more on the region’s longest conflict. And we’ve seen here from the past two months ever to change that. The first evil language the ISIS video was released two months ago or so and now this message from Baghdadi saying ISIS will surround Israel and liberate 7 Jerusalem. Is it overstatement that ISIS is still a fairly distant threat. There have been a few people trying to join ISIS or spread ISIS’s propaganda but those numbers are still fairly small. What is also interesting about this message is what’s not in it but dadi made no reference to recent ISIS’s attacks in Paris or signs of downing the Russian jet that seems to be what he would want to boast about, but no mention of either one, which opens up some questions about when this message was recorded.
