来自德州顶着才子称谓的Ryan，却打从幼年时，压根也想不到要朝音乐的方向迈进，直到聆听Dave Matthews的音乐后，才正式敲开Ryan音乐大门，自己录制创作歌曲，以自销性方式借助网站进行贩卖，除了引起不错回响外，更顺利获签 Atlantic唱片旗下。2004年发行首张个人专辑《Take It All Away》，双双获得全美流行专辑榜与网路销售榜Top8佳绩，同时也夺下金唱片殊荣，与Goo Goo Dolls主唱John Rzeznik共通创作出的音乐架构，打从创作、演奏、后制混音到制作，Ryan全程参与，藉着攀升成人抒情榜亚军、流行单曲榜Top15之林的成名曲 ＜On The Way Down＞、攻进流行单曲榜Top18的动人抒情小品＜True＞，再次显示靠着一步一脚印之实力走出来的Ryan，不是靠着阳光般迷人微笑及脸蛋，来赢 得乐迷认同与支持。
