美国派拉蒙公司和二十世纪福克斯公司共同投资两亿多美元拍摄的《泰坦尼克号》（Titanic）是“有史以来最昂贵的影片”，该片也是美国历史上海外及全球最卖座的影片，全球收入在18亿美元以上。并获得１４项奥斯卡提名中的奥斯卡最佳影片、最佳导演、最佳摄影、最佳服装设计、最佳艺术指导、最佳剪接、最佳剧情片原创配乐、最佳原创歌曲、最佳音响、最佳音响效果剪接及最佳视觉效果奖共11项大奖。

泰坦尼克号》电影主题曲由好莱坞主流电影著名作曲家詹姆斯·霍纳（James Horner）一手炮制，具有浓烈民族韵味的苏格兰风笛在他的精巧编排下，尽显悠扬婉转而又凄美动人。歌曲的旋律从最初的平缓到激昂，再到缠绵诽恻的高潮，一直到最后荡气回肠的悲剧尾声，短短四分钟的歌曲实际上是整部影片的浓缩版本。

加拿大女歌手席琳·迪翁（Celine Dion）演唱的影片主题歌“我心永恒---My Heart Will Go On”也正是影片音乐成功之处的集中体现，此曲曾蝉联全美告示牌（Billboard）排行榜冠军宝座长达16周之久。
