The International Monetary 1 Fund last Tuesday upgraded its forecast for China's economic growth in 2017 and 2018, reflecting the stronger-than-expected momentum 2 of the Chinese economy in 2016.

In its latest World Economic Outlook, the IMF expects the Chinese economy to grow 6.6% in 2017 and 6.2% in 2018, 0.1 and 0.2 percentage points higher than its forecast in January.
