From NPR news in Washington, I'm Jack 1 Speer. The Pentagon today warned eddy 2 IS statements like those of presidential candidate Donald Trump 3 fueling the narrative 4 of the IS the US is at war with the Muslim world. NPR's TB has more. Pentagon spokesman Peter Cook didn't mention Trump by name when he was asked to comment on Trump's call for a ban on Muslims coming into the US. We have troops serving that follow the Muslim faith without wading 5 into politics. Anything that tries to bolster 6 and fuel the IS narrative that the US is somehow at war with Islam is contrary to our values and contrary to national security. Trump called for a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the US until the government can quote 'figure out what's going on.'TB, NPR news, Washington.

The final state witnesses were crime lab technicians with the police department. They testified that they found Freddy Gray's blood on the bench and wall of the police van who was transported in. Over the past week, prosecutors have argued that officers Porter should have known he was supposed to save Freddy Gray in the van and should have realized Gray needed medical attention. Defense lawyers are expected to trying show that few officers actually follow the police department seat belt police and it's not there Gray has been injured. They've also said officer Porter may take the stand in his own defense. Automakers who hope to obtain the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's coveted 12 five-star safety rating will have to add crash avoidance technology to their vehicles soon. Among other things, NHTSA is expected to push automakers to add forward collision warning, lane departure warning and blind spot detection. Employers were advertising 14 few jobs in October. The measure is aimed to helping the struggling US territory handle up to 72 billion dollars in debts. It's part of a spending bill now making its way through congress. The governor of US Territory has warned it's running out of cash. Democrats say the bankruptcy 19 crisis in Porto Rico is part of ongoing 20 negotiations 21 with Republicans over spending bill that needs to be passed on Friday. Up to 45 percent of the US territory citizens live in poverty. In Paris today, international negotiators are doing the difficult work to paring down the cumbersome 22 subtext to deal with climate change. NPR's CJ reports on where the sticking points are and what questions still need to be answered. Many of the obstacles in the negotiators are still grappling with involve how rich countries will help the rest of the world switch from fossil fuels like coal and oil to renewable energy. US secretary of state John Kerry added that all nations can profit by shrinking their carbon foot print. Developing countries are bargaining hard though for more help from the west to pay for the damages climate change is likely to do. Also isn't sure is what kind of temperature increase is acceptable over the next few decades and how to stay within that limit. Delegates from France, the host country, are expected to * a final document this week. Their deadline for a up-and-down vote is Friday. CJ, NPR news, Paris.
