the rogue 2 nation firing three short-range missiles into the water between North Korea and Japan.And ABC's Akiko Fujita is in Tokyo this morning and join us with the latest,

The South Korean Defence Ministry 3 says North Korea fired three missiles off its east coast.Two in the morning,
followed by another in the afternoon.
These are short-range guided missiles,
not the mid-range Musudan missiles Washington has feared Pyongyang would launch last month.The missiles launched today are only capable of traveling several hundred miles at most.
And
officials here in Tokyo say the missiles never reached Japanese waters.
North Korea has known to fire a short-range missile once every several months,
but the launches today followed the arrival of the U.S. aircraft carrier USS Nimitz,
a move Pyongyang has strongly criticized.The ship was brought into South Korea last week for joining U.S naval 4 drills.
And North Korea's state TV called that an extremely reckless attempt to invade their country and added that the risk of a nuclear war and the peninsula has risen due to the madcap war practice by the U.S. and the South enemy forces.
