Holder 1: So let’s talk about the people and evacuation zone that was restricted. Cause nuclear plants are so many around there, we told them seal them off inside the house. People in the US asked about what to do if nuclear crises happen in this country. This is Doctor Bead 2. Doctor Bead, let’s take a close look at this.

Doctor Bead: That’s right, Robin 3. The goal is to get out of the radiation zone as quickly as possible. But if there wasn’t time to evacuate 4, you may be told to be shelter in place. That is to get inside fast and seal the area off anything which causes danger. I decide the guidelines for a test. What I going to do is to take carbon dioxide, dry ice, and see what happen and place it get under the door of the regular office and you can seal it up to make it safe. Let’s see. You can see the gas’s really coming through the door. Basic door can do very little to keep anything out. Let’s see what happen if we follow the rule and make it safe. So take a basic plastic sheeting and a good idea to get it pre-cut and it’s ready. You have to cover the door 2 inches all sides. Make sure it all coming down to the floor. You want to a air-tight seal, and seal the other side of the door when the plastic seal it up, the gas has no way to come in. I don’t see any gas coming though. I squatted 5 down to the bottom. Nothing! This is the safe room.
Holder: Wow!2”
Doctor Bead: So make sure you get all the dachas 2 inches all the way around.  And get the corners too. Check to make sure it’s secured.
Holder: How long can you stay inside?
Doctor Bead: Well, you know, this is useful when ru is passing over. So make sure you have the radio in there. After 3 hours you can ventilate so you can have the oxygen in to make sure you won’t be suffocated 6
Holder: So again you bring in the radio, your water supply and everything …
Doctor Bead: Emergency kits 7 we’ve been talking.
Holder: And again tell us again. When do you know to do this, how to you know to do this?
Doctor Bead: You need listening. The goal first is to evacuate ahead of the disaster. But the time, you can’t evacuate before the disaster, you have to know how to do this. And information there is not that how to do.
Holder: We heard from you, and again and again again about food, water, how do you know…
Doctor Bead: Right!
Holder:…you won’t be safe.
Doctor Bead: Best way to bring in water and food supply. Your water may be safe but if we have activated 8 fallout to pollute the water. You may be told by the local house department or the police “Don’t drink the water. You have 3 days water supply with you and you have nothing to worry about . And you listen to the radio and you would know what you should do.\
It’s so strange how do you know it’s effective. Unfortunately, we can’t see it coming in.
That gas is an example, you cannot see the radiation, so knowing how to do it, knowing how to seal is very important. It’s not that hard to do if you plan now. Whether it’s chemical release or radiation release you feel secured because you have the  power to reduce the exposion It would be reduced to 5% of what you got when you’re outside.
Holder: Really? It all help.
Doctor Bead:5%.
Holder: All right.. Doctor Bead, thanks so much.
