There is nothing final about the Final Fantasy series. In the 13th installment 1, you'll play several characters who have been chosen by god-like being to save their floating world known as Kakoon.
The setting is inventive and vast in ways you would expect from a novel.
-I wonder what's on the hood 2 of that thing?
The graphics 3 as you can see are astonishing and there is some fantastic art attraction going on, they compels you to move forward to see what they are going to do next.
-This is in a game?
-No. That's for damn sure.
But all these stuff is mired 4 by shallow acting 5 and dialogue that is awful.
-No matter what, we've come too far to quit now.
There are exceptions, the actors behind Lightning, the main character and Zazz do a very good job.
-Yeah, why don't you give us one reason to believe that? One reason.
Which makes the rest of the bad acting look even worse by comparison.
-I don't know what I should do.
You can start by not talking for the rest of this game.
-Not so tough now, uh?
The game is much more linear than most role playing games. In the first 20 hours you can't choose who and who is not in your party or even explore the game as your own leisure.
Combat is handled fairly well but does have a steep learning curve. Now that's sound to say that it isn't easy to win the first two battles in the game, it's just that it isn't a very intuitive system. It is strategic and just takes skill and practice. The music goes from good to the adult easy listening awful.
Final Fantasy is broken up into very clear sections, exploration, combats, cinematic. But the transitions between these moments are not as smooth as other role playing games like Dragon Age Origin or Massive Effect 2. Final Fantasy 13 is not an open world. It is a one way tunnel, a very pretty one way tunnel but a one way tunnel nonetheless.
-Shaky boy, aren't you? We'll see how long that lasts.
Final fantasy does have a strong story, a deep setting and astonishing graphics, but when you focus on a cinematic experience and have awful, melodramatic dialogue and bad acting, you'd detract from your own game.
-Only I've been stronger.
If you're a Final Fantasy fan, you'll still enjoy this game but you'll likely wish they hadn't maintained just to the combat and that they had given you more choices at the beginning. I give it seven, bad voice actresses(Then let's find a way)out of ten.
