Excalibur王者之剑女巫Nimueh把死亡骑士从坟墓中召唤出来，死亡骑士来到Camelot。死亡骑士杀死两位骑士后向Arthur挑战，Merlin找Gwen和巨龙求助得到王者之剑，可是巨龙提出要求，王者之剑只能被Arthur所用。但Merlin并不知道，Uther决定代替Arthur接受挑战。Uther用王者之剑杀死了死亡骑士。巨龙告诉Merlin，Camelot将受到诅咒，除非Merlin把剑藏到凡人找不到的地方。Merlin把剑扔到了湖里。（后来湖中仙女Nimue把剑献给了Arthur——Nimue是封印Merlin的女巫）
