Tip:
propose既可作及物动词又可作不及物动词，可表示"提议，建议，推荐，求(婚)，祝酒"等。表示"提议，建议"时，后面接 Ving构成 propose doing, 还可接 that从句。如 He proposed building a bridge across this river. (他建议在这条河上修建一座桥。)作不及物动词表示"计划，打算"时，后面接动词不定式 (propose to do) ，如: They propose to begin tonight. (他们打算今晚开始行动。)另外， propose to表示"向……求婚",如 Tom proposed to Marry the other day. (几天前汤姆向玛丽求婚了。); propose a toast (to sb.)意思是"(为某人)干杯"。
