134 A journey to Shangri-La
Having carefully planned my itinerary 3, I found myself in Shangri-La, a jewel on the map of the world. The most delicious crops are grown all the year round, as water is abundant and farmers are able to irrigate all the crops they wish to grow.
Housewives use earthenware 4 jars to carry water from canals to their homes, as they have one since time immemorial. Most of the fruit that is not eaten when it is ripe is made into delicious jelly
A truly beautiful place! And yet, after a few days’ stay, I found some things that were irritating.
One of the major problems concerned the many itinerant 5 men from places like Afghanistan, many of them jewellers, selling fake jewelry at inflated 6 prices. This caused a degree of jealousy 7 among the local population, many of whom were clearly becoming quite irritable 8.
They would jeer 9 whenever they saw one of those alien visitors in their clapped-out cars that would jerk to a halt in the market place and issue copious 10 amounts of soot 11 and smoke in the process.
This kind of ethnic 12 rivalry 13 is clearly a serious issue that is placing economic growth and development in jeopardy 14.
If only it were possible to isolate 15 the precise cause of what irritates the locals so much and jars on their psyche 16! If only one child issue some kind of sensible decree mandating 17 harmony and understanding and pull this senseless jealousy out with one big jerk!
香格里拉之旅
我认真地计划了我的路线，发现自己来到了香格里拉————世界地图上的一颗宝石。味道最好的庄稼一年四季都能生长，因为这里水源丰富，农民可以灌溉所有希望栽种的庄稼。家庭妇女用陶罐把水从运河运回家，就像从远古时代以来一直做的那样。大多数成熟而未及食用的水果被做成美味的果冻。

这种种族的敌对状态显然是一个严肃的问题，使经济的增长与发展处于危险的境地。
但愿能够离析出使当地人如此恼怒和心灵不愉快的真正原因！但愿一个人能颁布某种敦促和谐与理解的明智的法令，把这种无聊的嫉妒根子猛地一下连根拔出。
