[00:13.00]Now let's make some sentences in the past tense using adverbs.

[00:16.00]I say,"Her acting 5 was skillful 1."

[00:17.00]And you say....  She acted skillfully.

[00:18.00]Ready? Her performance was convincing.

[00:20.00]Her acting was skillful.  She acted skillfully.

[00:21.00]His direction was sensitive. He directed sensitively.

[00:22.00]His behavior was mysterious. He behaved mysterious.

[00:23.00]Their work was professional. They worked professionally.

[00:24.00]Her writing was intelligent.  She wrote intelligently.

[00:25.00]His management was efficient. He managed efficiently 6.

[00:26.00]Their driving was careful.  They drove carefully.

[00:27.00]Dick and Betty are brother and sister.

[00:28.00]Dick thinks he's better than Betty,but he isn't.

[00:29.00]They're both good at everything.

[00:30.00]I say,"He swims well."  And you say... She swims as well as he does.

[00:31.00]I say,"he writes well." And you say... She writes as well as he does.
