1. face在段中用做动词，表示面临，面对。
eg:The building faces the big river.
这房子面向着大河。
eg:Their house faces east.

2. shortage,缺少，不足，匮乏。
eh:There is a shortage of salt in this country.
这个国家缺少盐。
3. material,物质，材料。
teaching material(s)，教材； reading material，阅读材料; 下一个片段提到的training materials就是指培训用的材料。
eg:She pinned the material together.
她把材料别在一起。
