Members of the New York City communities are mourning the loss of two NYPD officers who were shot and killed on Saturday. The family of Eric Garner 1 said they are saddened by the shooting carried out by Ismaaiyl Brinsley who claimed retaliation 2 for Garner’s death. While Brooklyn Borough 3 President Eric Adams is calling for a pause on any protests until after the officers are laid to rest.
