1. Italian officials are urging the European Union to move swiflty to address the region's growing migrant crisis. EU leaders plan to hold an emergency summit to address the crisis, after a shipwreck 1 in Libya that may have killed more than 800 people.
2. France's prime minister visited churches on Tuesday, considered to be potential targets in a terrorist plot. Officials say an Algerian who had lived in France for several years was plotting to attack the churches. He was arrested after he apparently 2 accidentally shot himself and called for an ambulance.
3. An Arizona father is under arrest after his two-year-old died after being left in a car. Police say the temperature reached 90 degrees and the child was unable to get out of the car as the father slept inside their house. He's being charged with manslaughter and child abuse.
4. The Big Easy is now smoke free, at least in bars and casinos. A smoking ban goes went into effect in New Orleans on Wednesday.
