Britain's Prince Charles awoke on his birthday to find he's become more popular. A new poll 1 finds Charles now leads his son William and the people's choice to succeed Queen Elisabeth on the throne. That's brand new. William was the top pick in the last poll and had been for a while. It's a big deal and loud celebration for the Prince of Wales as we go around the world in eighty seconds.


 


United Kingdom: Two artillery 2 gun salutes 4 honoring Prince Charles on his 60th birthday. A 41-gun salute 3 in London's Hyde Park by the king's troop royal horse artillery. Later, the honorable artillery company gave the prince a 62-gun salute at the tower of London. Prince Charles wasn't there for either. He was attending a launch of a new project by his charity, the Prince's Trust.


 


Pakistan: Two journalists wounded in a possible kidnapping attempt in Peshawar. A Japanese newspaper reporter was travelling in a car with an Afghan colleague when gunmen opened fire. The city's been the scene of an increasing kidnapping and violence this year.


 


Mexico: These boys are taking part in what's called the Ceremony of the Flyers. The boys fly through the air, sixty feet above the ground. Eventually, they're lowered to the ground. The ceremony loaded with symbolism. Although no one's quite sure, some believe that the practice dates back to 600 B. C..


 


Japan: Twin pandas born just two months ago finally getting their names. The little girl is Mehin, her brother is called Ehin. The name's voted on by the public. The pandas, the first in Japan, that be born through artificial insemination.
