As the song goes, he knows when we were sleeping and when we were awake and when we were bad or good. But who knows he could also do this for goodness sake. Welcome to the mountains of Switzerland where more than a hundred men and women competed in a Santa Claus World Championship. To win you don’t just have to look the part, but be able to belt out a few carols. (Wish you a merry Christmas and a happy new year.) Be able to scale a chimney in no time flat and be able to cope with some donkeys through the snow. You may be asking yourselves why donkeys. It seems they just couldn’t round up enough reindeer 1 for the event.
There was also a sprint 2 involving presents, but then there was this, some kind of ball toss event. And then to make it even more surreal, contestants 3 got into this contraption from what we can gather the Santas strapped 4 themselves to Bungee Cords and jumped up and down on trampolines, all while try to catch ornaments 5 being thrown at them. At least there was drinking involved.
We will let the winner explain what it took to claim the title. “We’ve trained very hard the whole year, especially mentally because we celebrate Saint Nicolas day our clock since over a hundred and forty years and so we are best prepared for that job as we proved today.”
For that they get 4000 dollars and of course bragging rights
