Hi everyone, at the end of an extraordinary week, you can't help but be struck by how much tragic 1 history has been made in the third week of April. Yesterday, April 19th, we marked the 12-year anniversary of the bombing in Oklahoma City. The same day we marked the 14th anniversary of the sore on the Branch Davidian compound in Waco, Texas. Today is the 8-year anniversary of the Columbine shootings, and then Virginia Tech. All the people who have been touched by those tragedies can’t help but wonder why they happened? Why they lost those they love? For so many, the grieving goes on. T.S. Eliot wrote that April is the cruelest month. Right now, few Americans would disagree. During this cruelest month, as we mark all these sad anniversaries, we remember all those who were lost, and quietly extend our sympathies to all those who grieve. That’s a page from my notebook, I’m Katie Couric, CBS News.
