Hello and welcome. I'm Amanda Congdon video blogging for ABC News from President Bush's alma mater Yale in New Haven 1 Connecticut, asking students a very important question---Would you guys ever consider joining the US military?

(Yes.) No way in the hell. Why is that? Because I don't want to die.
That's a good answer.
How about you?
I would.
You would?
Yeah.
And what made you make that decision?
Em...either personal ambition or a sense of service to country.
I think I definitely would.
You would?
Yes.
Why is that?
Em...serve my country and you know, protect the rights they have been given to me / that I enjoy every day.
Would you ever consider joining the US military?
Em...No, not at all.
Why not?
I mean I'm not that kind of person.
Sure, I consider it. I don't think I would...
Yeah, I think I would. I would do it...It's...I think serving your country is something eh... something that everybody should do just... coz I have more national pride in the government, in the United States.
I stay neutral in all kind of affairs like that.
Thank you.
I don't know. Not, I don't think at this point but I don't know since our concern is changed, maybe.
I would follow my current plan to become a doctor. And then I guess I could foresee a possible circumstance, well, as a doctor. If I felt that it was necessary or if it was required that I would be in military
Would you ever consider joining the US military?
Em...I'm afraid not.
Why is that?
I mean I think that this administration is showing that they have literally 2 no respect for our troops and so I wouldn't participate in that.
I think, but generally military has to act on call and I don't specifically agree with every single political agenda, international scope. So...I would't really want to be fighting for things I don’t believe in. Also, I have one flat foot emerged obese 3. So...
Not for you.
What are you guys ?
Er...I've considered the Coastguard. Actually I have before but I don't know. It's... now it's only that's like kind of on my priority list.
Would you ever consider joining the US military?
No.
Why is that?
(um...)It's I don't trust Bush.
OK, thank you . That's concise 4 enough.
Sure.
Under what circumstance?
I guess in cases of a national emergency or something like that.
How about right now?
Would you ever consider joining the US military?
No.
No.
Why not?
Because of the risks involved in. It's just not something I'm interested in. I want to do a job that I would like.
