Iraq's prime minister says today al-Zarqawi was eliminated, drawing applause at a news conference. The Jordanian mastermind Abu Musab al-Zarqawi was killed in a US air raid north of Baghdad Wednesday evening along with 7 aides. The room erupted in cheers when the announcement was made. US ambassador to Iraq Zalmay Khalilzad says killing 1 of Zarqawi marks a great success for Iraq and a global war on terror. Al-Zarqawi led a bloody 2 campaign of suicide bombings, kidnappings and hostage beheadings in Iraq.
