Amid intense speculation 1, Senator Barack Obama announced he's considering a 2008 presidential run. But the Illinois Democrat 2 says he won't make a decision until after the November 7th midterm election. On NBC's “Meet the Press”, Obama said , quote:"Given the response that I've been getting over the last several months, I've thought about the possibility." Also Sunday, Obama dismissed claims he's not ready to run for the White House because of his limited experience in national politics. He said, "I'm not sure anyone is ready to be president before they're president. I trust the judgment 3 of the American people." And he went on to say, "Should I decide to run if I ever decide to run. I'll be confident that I'll be run through the paces pretty good".

Obama burst onto the national scene after his widely acclaimed 4 Keynote address at the 2004 Democratic National Convention. Since then, rumors 5 have been swirling 6 that he would make a run for the presidency 7. But Obama brushed aside the speculation saying he was planning to serve a full six-year term in Congress.
