Refuge 1 was started because my husband and I moved here to this community and we fell in love with our neighbors. And really at the very heart, we just wanted other people to know the refugee 2 community. We felt like this was a hidden jewel in Atlanta, and a great way to introduce a group of people to another group of people is coffee.
我和丈夫开启了避难的生活，搬到了这个社区，然后我们爱上了我们的邻居。我发自内心地想让其他人知道难民社区的存在。我感觉这里就像亚特兰大一颗鲜为人知的宝石。介绍两群人认识的一个好办法就是通过咖啡。
There was a need for job training to prepare people who are new to this country, to get jobs that can help them to thrive, not just survive.
在职培训是有必要的，因为培训可以让刚刚来到美国的人做好准备，让他们可以谋得帮助自己繁荣发展的工作，而不只是果腹而已。
We had people from all different religions and countries, and there is a lot of cultural differences. But because of this base value of welcome, we find that what that really does is it enriches 3 us rather than challenges us.
不同宗教信仰、来自不同国家的人都会来到这里。大家之间存在着许多文化差异。但因为我们秉持欢迎他人的基准，所以我们会发现，文化差异并没有给我们带来难题，反而丰富了我们的生活。
I went through the program which is like a year of job training, development skills which gave me a lot of experience to change too many things and learn the system here. I am very happy to help other refugees 4 to improve their work skills and their language skills. I have learned so much about other cultures and there is so much beauty in them ,and we miss out when we don’t know those people, and we just put them in a box and label them.
整个项目我都坚持下来了，感觉就像经历了一整年的在职培训，让我获得了学习发展的能力，有了触发改变的经验，也了解了这里的体系。我很高兴能帮助其他难民提高他们的工作技能和语言技能。我了解了很多有关其他文化的知识，我发现其他文化都蕴藏着许多美丽之处。如果我们不认识这些人，就会错过这些，会对其他文化存有思维定式的框框。
We’re in the business of welcome, and welcome is something every human being needs and is something every human being can give. So it’s a universal capacity and it’s a universal need.
我们正以包容接受的心面对他人，而海纳百川的心态是每个人都需要的，是每个人都能做到的。所以，海纳百川既是一种能力，也是一种需要。
