歌曲作于六十年代末，是奥斯卡奖影片《毕业生》（THE GRADUTE，1967）的插曲之一，改编自一首十七世纪英格兰民谣，联系当时的时代背景（越南战争），不难领会歌曲的内涵。这首歌保罗-西蒙（Paul Simon）和加芬克尔（Carfunkel）唱得温柔，怀旧，凄美，轻盈，色彩浓郁。他们用沉思在努力回忆起一件旧事，并且从容述说。背景里有森林、花草、坟墓上的露珠、发亮的枪管。
