His opponent, Jordan's Prince Ali Bin 11 Al Hussein, released a statement saying it was "a sad day for football."

Those named in the U.S. indictment include five officials, along with current FIFA Vice 12 Presidents Jeffrey Webb and Eugenio Figueredo and former vice president Jack 13 Warner. Daryll and Daryan Warner, sons of Jack Warner, are among those who have already entered guilty pleas.
