1988年出生于荷兰。当她只有17岁的时候，那时她还是煎饼店的服务生，带着梦想和一个摄像头，她开始在2006年8月25日注册的YouTube上发布自己演唱的包括布兰妮，玛丽亚凯莉，碧昂斯等当红歌手的歌曲，大受欢迎，从此就一发不可收拾，迅速成为一个网络走红歌手，她笑称很多人从视频网站了解到她，和她联系，这使她的打字速度得到了很大的提高。06年，她受到了荷兰艺术总监Jonathan Berhane的关注并被介绍给了获得格莱美提名的歌曲作家Billy Mann。在一次贾斯汀的演唱会上经纪人安排她和贾斯汀见面并签订了协议，在2007年贾斯汀10场欧洲巡演上与其同台演出。据一些杂志披露，她是史上第一个直接被邀请在商业演出上进行重大的专业表演的未签约歌手。
