Tonight once again, people will celebrate Guy Fawkes with fireworks. Many cities have free public displays. However Tauranga this year has cancelled the public fireworks display because the wild life rescue centre is near the stadium 2 where they usually have fireworks. About 400 birds, mostly little blue penguins 3, are still at the rescue centre and fireworks could upset the birds. Listen to October 27th 2011 to hear more about the penguins covered in oil.
Many pets get upset by fireworks. Pet owners should keep their pets indoors 4 tonight and their windows closed.
