The main role of these organs is to dispose of waste products and to turn them into urine. The body's eight liters of blood pass through the kidneys between 20 and 25 times each day, meaning that, together, these organs filter about 180 liters every 24 hours.
肾脏的主要功能就是清除体内的废物，并且把这些废物转变成尿液。每天体内有八公升的血液会经过肾脏，频率介于20-25次之间，也就是说，总共算起来，这对器官每24小时就要过滤约180公升的血。
