reach,达到。可做动词，但下面第一个例子用做名词。
作名词时reach表示一个人手`能力`智力等的可及范围。
Put these things beyond children's reach.把这些东西放在孩子够不着的地方。
beyond one's reach相当于out of one's reach.
be within one's reach,在某人伸手能够拿到的范围内。 The switch 1 is within my reach.那开关是在我伸手就能触及的地方。
reach for,伸手去拿...
We both reached for the apple on the table at the same time.我们同时伸手去拿台上的那个苹果。
又例如书架上有本书，需要伸手去拿。这时可说
I am reaching for the book.我正伸手去拿那本书。
reach也指到达。
When did you reach Zhongshan？你什么时候到达中山？
