The Serbian province of Kosovo, with 90 percent of its population ethnic 1 Albanian, declared independence from Serbia on Sunday. VOA's Barry Wood reports that this latest break with what was once the heart of Yugoslavia comes nearly nine years after a NATO bombing campaign drove Serbian troops out of Kosovo and the United Nations took over administration 2 of the territory.
