The glorification 1 of terrorism is not a crime -- that is the word from the European Parliament, which recently voted against a proposal calling on EU countries to change the definition of terrorist offenses 3. Civil liberties advocates claimed victory, criticizing Britain's 2006 Terrorist Act, which makes the indirect encouragement of others to commit acts of terrorism -- including the glorification of terrorism -- a criminal offense 2. The debate coincides with an emerging trend in the counter-terrorism community, to tackle the roots of radicalization and prevent would-be terrorists from being recruited. Nina-Maria Potts reports.
