1991年12月19日出生在英国的肯特郡，祖父Ben是一位酒吧乐师，受其熏陶迪克兰·加尔布雷斯在4岁时就展露出在音乐方面的超常天赋，后在Barry Mason的推荐下，迪克兰录制了Howard Blake创作、由英国圣菲利普童声合唱团演唱的《Walking in the air》．成名后迪克兰天真依旧，：“最希望爸爸妈妈不用再出去工作。如果还有多，就给爸爸买辆新车；如果还有多，就给自己买些足球明星卡；如果还有多，那就存进银行去。”
