"Can you work next weekend?" Harry 1 asked. "I don't know," said Marty. "I'll have to check with my wife first." Harry smirked 2. "You're kidding," he said. "You have to ask your wife's permission? What kind of man are you?" Marty said, "I'm a married man. That means 3 my wife and I are partners. We do things together. We make decisions together. She needs my help sometimes on weekends. So I'm going to ask her if she needs my help next weekend. If she needs my help, I can't work next weekend. If she doesn't need my help, I can work next weekend. Does that sound so strange to you?" Harry said, "It sure does. If someone offers me work, I take it. My wife takes care of the house and the kids. She does the shopping. I make the money. I never ask her permission about work or anything else."
