Gordon said, "My elbow's killing 1 me. I have tendinitis." Isaac said, "A friend of mine lost both his arms. He doesn't even have an elbow." Gordon said, "My back's killing me. I couldn't even get out of bed this morning." Isaac said, "A friend of mine is paralyzed from the neck down. He can't ever get out of bed." Gordon said, "My stomach's killing me. I've got indigestion really bad." Isaac said, "A friend of mine had bad indigestion. They removed most of his intestine 2. Now he carries a bag on his waist. You're a lot better off than my friend." Gordon said, "Yes, I'm a lot better off than all of your friends. So what?" Isaac said, "Well, knowing that should make you feel better." Gordon said, "Yes, it does, for about a whole second! But I'm still hurting. Knowing about their pain doesn't make my pain go away."
