BUOAR, C.A.R. — Bouar lies about 450 kilometers west of the Central African Republic's capital, Bangui.  The town has become a refuge for thousands of people displaced by the sectarian violence that is wracking the country.  For Christians 1 displaced by the conflict, getting enough food to survive is a struggle.

People start lining 2 up early.  The monthly distribution of food rations 3 by the U.N.'s World Food Program is not a day they would miss.

The country's food crisis affects not just those uprooted 4 by the conflict.  Displaced or not, everybody who is hungry comes.  

中非的粮食危机不仅仅影响到了因争端而迁移的人。不管是不是无家可归者，所有饥饿的人们都会过来（领取食物）。

As the hours pass, the line grows and tensions rise.  

随着时间的推移，排起的长队越来越长，紧张感也随之升级。

Soldiers deployed 5 by the African Union mission to the Central African Republic keep the crowds in line.  

现场由非洲联盟加派到中非的的士兵维持着秩序。

Madeleine Kim-Mboussa is among those waiting.  She and her family of six children fled their village several weeks ago.  

Madeleine Kim-Mboussa是焦急地等待者之一。她和她的六个孩子在几周前逃出了村子。

“The Seleka killed my whole family," she said. "My aunts are gone, I couldn’t stay there. That’s why I came to Bouar.”

Michel Sourou Baye is a father of eight.  He too has no means to feed his family.

“Many things have happened during this crisis, I won’t name them all," he said.  "There’s a food crisis.  My family and I fled into the bush.  I’ve visited them, some are sick.”

Finally the wait is over.  Madeleine's name is called and she makes her way to the food distribution area.  Her rations consist of a 50-kilogram sack of rice, 10 kilos of beans, two liters of cooking oil and 15 packets of nutritional 6 supplements.

等待终于结束。终于叫到了Madeleine的名字，她费力地走到食物分配区。她的给养包括一袋50千克的米，10千克的豆子，2公升的食用油和15包的营养补充品。

Just as she is about to leave, Madeleine realizes that one of her bags is missing.   But with the help of other women, she quickly nabs the thief.  

就在她准备离开的时候，Madeleine意识到她的一个袋子丢失了。但是在其他妇女的帮助下，她很快就抓住了小偷。

Madeleine gets her bag of beans back, but her relief is short-lived.  She realizes her bottle of cooking oil has been stolen.  But Edwige Sonikpi helps Madeleine identify this thief too.  

虽然Madeleine拿到了那包豆子，但这都是短暂的安慰。她发现她的那瓶食用油被偷了。但是同样，Edwige Sonikpi 帮助Madeleine认出了那个小偷。

“It’s a war here!  Men rob us, they don’t want to share, and we women are always the losers,” she said.

“简直就像打仗！男人们偷我们的，他们不想分享，而我们女人呢，只是失败者。”她说道。

After a very long and difficult day, Madeleine arrives home with all her rations.

经历了漫长而又艰难的一天，Madeleine带着她领到的给养回到了家中。

“I’m really pleased.  If I’d had this earlier, my children wouldn’t have suffered," she said.  "But I’m happy.  I must say, this is my lucky day.”

“真的很开心。如果我早一点拿到的话，我的孩子们就不用挨饿的，”她说，“但是我很开心，这是我的幸运日。”

Madeleine says she hopes she'll be able to feed her family for another month.
