SEOUL— The Eighth U.S. Army Division and the Eighth Republic of Korea Mechanized Infantry 1 Division put on a well orchestrated show of force for the media this week during their joint 2 military training exercises in South Korea. The soldiers were well disciplined both in conducting a complex live fire exercise and in staying on message with the press.

The combined U.S. and South Korean armies staged a mock attack that involved 14 helicopters, ten armored vehicles and 300 soldiers, all firing live rounds, at a U.S. artillery 4 range in Pocheon, about six kilometers from the North Korean border.
