And that was his first time in space,John Glenn was one of NASA's original astronauts,he's been the receiever of a lot of attentiong right now, because 50 years ago yesterday, he made history.    As that rocket launched into sky,John Glenn bacame the first American to altered the Earth. In fact,he circled the globe three times during the flight out the mission. It may happen half a century ago,but Glenn says the famous flight was when he will never forget.

I guess I  recall quite often over the best  50 years, that's cann't be fresh, but it was such an impressive thing of the time, that it was indelibly imprinted 1 in my memory, and I can recall those days very very well.
Today is Tuesday, you already knew that, but did you know that is that Tuesday? That meas that was also Mardi Cras. That means that Tuesday in French, and no matter what you call it,it falls on the day before the riligous abserves of Limt? which begins from last Wednesday. And cities like Neolint?, Mardi Cras is a huage celebration, and you will see carres of flows, marching bands and people in costume.Neolin holds its first  Mardi Cras parade in 1837, the flow started showing up 20 years later. And typically more than a million people come out to attend the city's Mardi Cras celebrations.
Next up the bright lights of the  big city. You might have seen the ??in NewYork or even LasVegas. But in this case, we are talking about Hong Kong, some residents say all that  lights from business and advertisments can boost the city's image or even make the streets safer. But not everyone thinks brighter is better.Rechal Quest has this alliminating report.??lights ,bigger lights, and then that's Hong Kong. The world's big cities of culture, convenience and cosmapolatant way of life.Living in a city, especially like this can be anything but easy.Property prises assume the highest in the world. That city is battled with air pollution is well-known.With so much development, there is also the noise pollution. Now is a partly different problem,it's trying to live in a city of lights, lots of lights.Poseling?? with business and the heart of Hong Kong, nights become day when the lights get switched on.This is about aa fact as a guest??But remember, there are people living up there, trying to sleep, if they can.
Professor Henry John has been studying in light pollution for more than a decade, and says not only excessive light a real nuisance,it's a waste of energy.
So what would you do? Would you switch all them off?
Yeah,it's a good idea, but of course we have to try to balance。That's why Er..I think the government has to do something, the legislation, try to control the maximum brightness produced by all these lights, and check the brightness around the area. Then it's the best way to control the light pollution.
Wow it's been debated there is currently no regulations  in place to curb 2 light pollution. Wow the city's aglistening sky lights 've  been drawn 3 Victoria for years, now even HongKong's chief executives recognizes action has to be taken.
We realize that we have to do something about it.We look at the commercial areas,it's pretty bright,I think it become offensive at times ,so we are now introducing gratefully regulation with striction to make sure people do have quiet life and not be disturbed by the lights.

And finally,if you like bacon ,you're gonna love today before we go segment, because that's the main course of this annual ##  .That attracts thousands of people,It's bacon Fest! Now the popular poor  product isn't just for breakfest, they can fou lunch ,they can for dinner, for dissert. You bet your bacon, cut cakes and broneys with bacon baked right and they even offer right sites bacon .Ok , that actu??ally maybe just the guy in the costume .He was probably trying to hand with all of the attention, but the true star  was the bacon. And the skil it takes to prepare it in such interesting ways. We arrjust a little surprised  that maight be held on saturday, you think the best time for bacon fest would  be  on a Friday.
All right,we are done picking out  them ?? During the rest of your day ,for CNN student news.
