以“Longer”一曲而引起全球歌迷注目的作曲家、吉他手兼歌手Dan Fogelberg，以他轻柔的歌喉、清澈的吉他声及动人的词句使他拥有“民谣诗人”的美称。他歌唱生涯在商业上最成功的一张专辑则是于1980年推出的《Phoenix》。这张由凤凰涅槃的传说带来灵感的作品，诞生了《Longer》，至今仍常被点播、传唱。
